Maybe you’ve already seen the United Way Campaign Thermometers. They are up in Wellsville at the corner of North Main Street and W. State and in Cuba near the exit of Giant Food Mart.
Although a week ago when this photo was taken it shows progress of 20 percent, right now the thermometers show progress of 50 percent toward this year’s goal of $350,000. The funds raised will be used to support local non-profit organizations that focus on education, health, income self-sufficiency, and critical needs.
This year one in every three Allegany County residents will reach out to a United Way-supported agency for help. With the generous support of our community, we can continue and even increase the number of people served. Certainly the need is great.
